Taylor Swift Reportedly In Talks For the Lead Role in The Bodyguard Sequel

Warner Bros. is set to release a remake of the 1992 box office hit “The Bodyguard.” The original film
starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, with the plot centered around Costner, a former Secret Service agent, taking a job as a bodyguard to a superstar singer, Rachel Marron, played by Whitney Houston

The original Bodyguard was a huge success, making $411 million worldwide at the box office with Oscar nominations. The movie also had a best-selling soundtrack featuring songs performed by Houston, including “I Will Always Love You,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Run To You,” and “I Have Nothing.”

The film will be directed by Sam Wrench, who is best known for his documentaries on Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. The remake has reportedly been in the works since 2011, with the first plan for the Bodyguard sequel being to feature the late Princess Diana before her untimely passing.

Reportedly, Taylor Swift is in talks to star in the movie. Sources say the deal may also include new music and merchandise. Until an agreement is signed, Swifties are anxiously waiting to know if they can look forward to seeing their favorite pop artist on the big screen.
