Boxing superstar and MMA competitor Claressa Shields is the best female boxer of her generation and arguably, the greatest the sport has ever seen.
This holiday season, the world will see how she climbed to the top of the professional boxing ladder.
New film “The Fire Inside,” will highlight the current undisputed World Champion Claressa, ‘T-Rex’ Shields. The movie takes you on a journey into her 2012 Summer Olympics run to a Gold medal at just 17 years old. 2012 was the first year ever for amateur female boxers to compete in the Olympic games. The Fire Inside is based on T-Rex: Her Fight For Gold, a 2016 documentary.
Rachel Morrison will direct, producers will be Elishia Homes and Barry Jenkins. Barry Jenkins also wrote the script and the film we be distributed through Amazon MGM Studios. The film will star Ryan Destiny as Claressa Shields, Olunike Adeliyi as her mother, Jackie Shields, and Brian Tyree Henry as coach Jason Crutchfield.
The Fire Inside debuts in theaters on Christmas Day, 2025.
