10-Part “Black Comedy In America” Docuseries To Premier on Vice TV

Get ready for a lot of laughs and a history lesson. The ten-part series Black Comedy In America will give you an in-depth look into BLACK COMEDY and its impact on America featuring some of the biggest comedic icons and television series to appear on screen.

Tiffany Haddish, Chris Spencer, and Ryan Davis, will host the VICE TV series Black Comedy In America. The docuseries was produced by Tiffany Haddish’s She Ready Productions and SMAC Productions. The series dives deep into the legends of Black Comedy as told by who else, America’s most prolific Black Comics working today!

Black Comedy In America explores the comedic pioneers of television, film, and stand-up comedy.
Go on a journey from the beginning of their careers as opening acts, to evolving into headlining legends with some of the most powerful voices ever to hit the screen and stage.

EPISODES WILL INCLUDE:

  • The Kings of Comedy – Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and DL Hughley discuss their tour
    with Bernie Mac and much more
  • Def Comedy Jam – featuring commentary from former host Joe Torry
  • Sitcoms of the 70s – featuring The Jeffersons and comments from Marla Gibbs
  • The Best Man
  • Richard Pryor
  • Eddie Murphy in the 80s
  • Our Roots – Black comedy’s foundation rose from the chitlin circuit during the Jim Crow
    segregation era.
  • Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
