Justin Seth Riley, professionally known as BeatKing, a.k.a the Club God, has left the Houston
hip-hop community and music lovers across the nation devastated after learning the rapper
suddenly passed away.

The Texas artist’s manager, Tasha Felder, confirmed his death in a statement posted on
Instagram on Thursday. “Today, Aug. 15. 2024, we have lost @Clubgodzilla. BeatKing has been
the best part of the club for over a decade. He has produced and worked with so many artists
that his sound will forever live. He loved his daughters @clubgodparenting, his music and his
fans. We will love him forever.”

Known for his fun Southern rap style with the unique blend of raw lyricism, and energetic beats,
BeatKing earned a significant following throughout his career. He was best known for his song
“Then Leave,” which went viral in 2020 on TikTok, catapulting him to an international audience.
However, the “Club God” was particularly famous in Texas, where his music filled college parties
and club scenes through the 2010s.

Other hits by BeatKing include “SDAB,” which featured 2Chainz and Juicy J, “Outside,” and “Keep It Poppin,” featuring Ludacris and Queendom Come. He released his latest project, Never Leave Houston
on Sunday, July 26.

Fans, friends, and fellow artists have expressed their grief and paid tribute to BeatKing’s legacy
on social media.
“It’s always the good ones. Damn this s— hurt,” fellow Houston rapper Bun B wrote in an
Instagram post. “Just a great spirited person. We lost a talented artist and father. Prayer for
@talameshia and his loved ones. RIP @clubgodzilla.”

BeatKing’s cause of death was determined to be pulmonary embolism. The condition is often caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from the legs or other parts of the body, and blocks one or more arteries in the lungs. The scenario is commonly associated with deep vein thrombosis (DVT). It can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. While pulmonary embolism can strike anyone, risk factors include
prolonged immobility, surgeries, or certain medical conditions. Some of the most common symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, leg swelling, low blood pressure, and coughing up blood. Sometimes the symptoms go unnoticed until it’s too late.

BeatKing’s untimely death is a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of health awareness.
He was 39. RIP BeatKing.
