On this day, November 4, 1991, Robert Calvin Bland AKA, Bobby “Blue” Bland was elected to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The following year in 1992, Bland was inducted into the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame by the King of Blues, B.B. King.
Bobby “Blue” Bland had a distinctive voice and was known for his soulful singing style, which blended elements of blues, R&B, and gospel. He had a long and successful career in music which spanned over six decades. He released 27 albums and had numerous hit songs including, “Turn On Your Love Light,” “Ain’t No Love in the Heart of the City,” “Stormy Monday Blues,” “Members Only,”and “I Pity the Fool.”
