On this day, October 24, 1992, Boyz II Men was #1 on the Billboard Singles Chart with “End of the Road”. The song stayed in the number one spot for eleven weeks which tied with Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel”, for the longest running single at the top of the Billboard chart.

Three months later their record was shattered when Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”, grabbed the top spot on Billboard and stayed there for 14 consecutive weeks.

Currently, Lil Nas X holds the record for the longest running #1 single on Billboard with “Old Town Road” at nineteen weeks.
