The second annual Englewood Music Festival was held Saturday, September 16, on Halsted near 63rd Street in Chicago, Illinois. The festival was organized by Alderman Stephanie Coleman in an effort to bring together the community through music and to celebrate the Englewood neighborhood.
The event featured live music performances from some of Chicago’s own hip hop and R&B artists, including Danny Boy, (former Death Row Records artist, and member of the rap trio Do or Die), Chellah H, 16th Ward Senior Gospel Chorale, and a finale performance by Trick Daddy & Trina.
In addition to the music, there were local vendors, back-to-school programming and prizes, a community resource fair, art activations, health and wellness screenings, school supplies, and a senior pavilion.
The event was free to the public and enjoyed by all. There was plenty of great music and attendees showed support to local businesses and learned about the resources available to Englewood residents.
