Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s with his unique blend of hip-hop, R&B and pop-infused music.

Nelly was born in Austin, Texas but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He initially started as a member of the hip-hop group St. Lunatics before embarking on a successful solo career.

Nelly gained widespread recognition with his debut album “Country Grammar,” which was released in 2000. The album’s title track, “Country Grammar”, became a massive hit and helped him achieve mainstream success. Throughout his career he released several chart-topping hits, and received three Grammy Awards.

Apart from his music career, Nelly has ventured into various business ventures. He has his own clothing line called “Apple Bottoms,” which focuses on women’s denim. He’s also been involved in the energy drink industry and other entrepreneurial endeavors. Furthermore, he has appeared in a few films and television shows, including a role in the 2005 film “The Longest Yard.”
