Mary J. Blige is a singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist, born in The Bronx, New York City. Blige is often referred to as the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul” due to her distinctive voice and blending of R&B, soul, and hip-hop elements in her music.
Her career took off in the early 1990s after the release of “What’s the 411?” The album was a massive success, and Blige’s soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics captured audiences around the globe.
